Scripting - Testing and implementation
Date 29-30. 3. 2022
>Gen. Progress: Implemented part 2 (Scripting document -> Segments: 1,2,3,4) of the Scripting Document
Activity: Used tutorial to implement Animations and to play sounds on state changes for animations.
This took some while, since I planned on connecting my Zone 1 clone with the original Zone 2, I ended up scrapping this idea considering future workloads and the fact that it is directly specified to bar zone transitions from our working scene in the document for now.
The animations themselves were fun to play around with, the animator / animations interface is pretty straightforward, not much to complain about. Relatively easy to work with, at least up to the developer since it is possible to bloat out states and transitions.
Also had to revise the design document, while it is no longer a "one page" design, since the map itself takes up an extra page, it is still truthful to the compact design philosophy of the "One page design". Had to implement a more detailed map, since in the original, the mockup was hard to read and didn't specify details such as: what powerup is placed where, what trigger does what...
Outcome: 3rd iteration of scripting build (2nd one was quite buggy due to overlap in scrips, had to rewrite) + reworked design document
Invested hours:
- 3 hours in editor itself with testing, building, scripting and trying out custom animations.
- 0.3 hour revising One page document
Makes a total of 3 hours and 20 minutes
PS: Just an afterthought, I realised that while shooting, the fire position does not change while crouching, will have to fix in next iteration!
